OJSC «Universalna» has secured the third place by PR-activity amid insurance companies of Ukraine, according to the research, conducted by the League of insurance organizations of Ukraine in 4Q2008.

The result of IC «Universalna» in 4Q2008 totaled to 7% from the announcements of all the insurance companies.

According to the LIOU research, during October-December 2008 the Information Policy Center of LIOU received 623 press releases in total, which is by 21% more compared to 3Q2008.

A substantial number of press releases has informed about the new programs and products, branch network extension, claims paid, as well as the personnel changes to the companies governing bodies.

As a result the companies, who operated in the most active manner, have been discovered.

«Despite that the credit crunch affected the insurance market during the research period, PR divisions of the insurance companies were still active. It evidences the sharpening of competitiveness to attract new customers, and the information is one of the key constituents of success in the market, especially during the economic slowdown», — noticed Svitlana Glushko, Director of the Information Policy Center of LIOU.

The Information Policy Center of LIOU received 1826 press releases from the beginning of 2008.

During January 5—31, 2009 OJSC Insurance Company «Universalna» has paid out the insurance claims in amount of UAH 6 945 690.

The greatest occurrence of insurance claims paid has been carried out by the medical and MOD insurance contacts concluded in the Donetsk and Kyiv branches.

The predominant amount of the claims paid has been fulfilled to the individuals.

OJSC Life Insurance Company «Universalna» has developed the program «Credit protection». It’s aimed at ensuring that the credit obligations will be discharged in case of job loss.

Everyone at the age between 20 and 50 years old, who’ve lost their job, can apply to OJSC Life Insurance Company «Universalna». The program provides insurance payment in case of job loss (unemployment), or in case of death of the insured.

It means that if the insured was made redundant, but registered in the State Employment Service, the insured will receive the full amount of insurance coverage. The insurance contract concludes for 1 year.

According to Natalia Duzinkevich, the head of marketing, advertising and PR division of OJSC Life Insurance Company «Universalna», in terms of credit crunch, when the problem of cutting jobs is very burning and non-distribution of the credit is getting widespread, the company takes the responsibility to support those, who found themselves in serious trouble, and to minimize the negative economic trends.

OJSC Insurance Company «Universalna» has paid out the insurance claim in amount of UAH 75 000, 00 by MOD insurance policy.

The accident has happened in Lviv region, involving SAZ and Nissan vehicles (the last one is the client of «Universalna»).

Traffic accident has occurred due to the motor collision considering traffic violation on the side of SAZ driver. As a result, the motor vehicle insured at «Universalna» has sustained significant loss.

«Universalna» has compensated for damage comprehensively.

OJSC Insurance Company «Universalna» has opened new PoS in 4 regions of Ukraine.

Particularly, «Universalna» has opened new PoS in the urban village of Borschiv (Ternopil region) at the address: Kondry str.,1.

In addition, the company has opened new PoS in the city of Berdychiv, Zhitomyr region (Lenina str., 38) and in the city of Alchevsk, Lugansk region (Gmyri, 18, of.2).

Since October 1, 2008 the company has opened 27 regional PoS in Kyiv, Lviv, Vinnytsya, Zhitomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kherson, Lugansk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv and Cherkasy region and also in the Crimea.

As of 01.01.2009 the company’s branch network accounted for over 230 PoS throughout Ukraine.

During January 19—25, 2009 OJSC Insurance Company «Universalna» has paid out the insurance claims in amount of UAH 2 646 694.

Department of corporate sales of OJSC Insurance Company «Universalna» has concluded the medical insurance and accident insurance contracts with «Merlone TermoSanitari Ukr LLC» (Ariston™).

The insurance payment by both contracts totaled to UAH 74,5 thous. The total insurance coverage amounted to UAH 2,64 mln.

According to Maya Chernova, the senior manager of department of corporate sales, Insurance Company «Universalna» provides the optimal insurance conditions for the client’s employees, meeting their needs. In accordance with terms of the contract, the «Elit» insurance program has been suggested to the client’s employees. This program includes medical care in clinics, hospitals, emergency call, dental care and preventive measures.

In addition, the Ariston’ employees have the opportunity to conclude the individual insurance contracts for their close relatives following the terms of the contract.

MTS «Merlone Termosanitari» group (Italy) is more than 70 years at the market and is a leading company at manufacturing and sale of boilers, water heaters and air conditioners.

According to the reinsurance program for 2009, OJSC Insurance Company «Universalna» has concluded reinsurance contracts with the leading international reinsurance and insurance companies.

«Large amount of risks, accepted by OJSC Insurance Company «Universalna» require the reliable reinsurance coverage, defining the active cooperation with the leading reinsurers», — noticed Mr. Oleksander Dyachenko, Director of the reinsurance department.

Particularly, in obligatory insurance, property risks of OJSC Insurance Company «Universalna» have been reinsured by Kolnische Ruckversicherungs — Gesellschaft AG, Gen Re group (Germany, «AAA» Standard & Poor’s rating). This contract includes industrial break (BI), motor and equipment insurance (ΜΒ), all the assembly risks insurance (EAR), all-risks insurance of the construction entrepreneur (CAR), building engineering, vehicles and equipment insurance (CPM).

The motor risks portfolio including building engineering and equipment, agricultural and timber machinery has also been reinsured by Gen Re.

The cargo, carrier responsibility (CMR/TTH) and accident risks have been reinsured by SCOR Global P&C (France, «A» A.M.Best rating)

The «Green Card» — motor third party liability — portfolio has been placed in the European and London markets by broker Willis Limited (UK).

The risks, which surpass the obligatory contracts limits or mismatch the terms of such contracts, are placed optionally at Gen Re, Munich Re, Polish Re, SCOR Global P&C, Hannover Re, Swiss Re, Transatlantic Re, ACE European Group and at the leading domestic insurance companies.

In addition, Insurance Company «Universalna» collaborates with international insurance and reinsurance brokers on demand — AON Finland Oy, Willis Insurance Brokers Ltd, RFIB, IB Malakut, Oakeshott Insurance Consultans Ltd.

During January 12—18, 2009 OJSC Insurance Company «Universalna» has paid out the insurance claims in amount of UAH 1 727 295,9.

The greatest occurrence of insurance claims paid has been carried out by the contacts concluded in the Head Office, as well as in Donetsk and Kyiv branches.

The predominant amount of the claims paid has been fulfilled to the individuals.

OJSC Insurance Company «Universalna» has opened the Uman regional PoS (Cherkasy branch) at the address: the city of Uman, Piontkovskogo Str., 7.

In terms of network extension project, since October 1, 2008 «Universalna» has opened 23 regional PoS in the regions of Kyiv, Lviv, Vinnytsya, Zhitomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kherson, Lugansk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv and Cherkasy.
